Seven reasons why you may be having trouble selling your home.
Today I’ll talk about seven common mistakes that homeowners make when they decide to sell their homes:
1. Picking the wrong agent. Most people pick an agent based on their relation to them. They choose an agent who could be their brother, uncle, nephew, or cousin rather than hiring a seasoned real estate agent with the right qualifications and experience to get the job done.
2. Overpricing. There’s always a sweet spot of where to price your home to get the most buyers interested. You want to have an experienced agent who can come in and tell you where that sweet spot is.
3. Not making minor repairs. Minor repairs such as touch up paint and cleaning will make your home show so much better.
4. Too much clutter. When selling your home, you want to get rid of clutter and make it look like a builder’s model home. If you haven’t seen one, look at a few model homes online.

5. Not allowing access to your home. We typically show your home by appointment only and notify you the day before the appointment. However, people sometimes want to see your house on that same day. You have to let them in because they could be the buyer you’ve been waiting for.
6. Staying home during the showings. You don’t want to be home during showings. The buyers are more likely to make a decision to buy your home if you’re not there.
7. Having pets in your home during showings. It’s best to keep your pets off the premises when there is a showing.
