Here are four reasons why you should consider selling this winter.
Around this time of year, we’re often asked if now is a good time to sell or if sellers are better off waiting until spring. Here are four reasons why you should consider selling your home now:
1. Low interest rates. Right now, there are fixed-rate mortgages as low as 2.75% to 3.25%. Some short-term loans are as low as 2.25%. This is a big reason to sell now because when rates go up 1%, it’ll cost buyers a lot more.
2. Low inventory. The number of homes for sale is very low. There are only 4,300 homes available in the greater metro area. There will be more inventory in the spring. When you have more competition, it becomes harder to get the price you want and sell your home quickly.
“You want to have your home on the market for winter opportunities.”
3. January job relocations. We get a lot of people transferring in January, and they can’t wait until the spring to buy your home. You want to have your home on the market for those people.
4. Stay in your home longer after selling. A lot of people object to moving in the winter. You can sell your home now, and we can delay the closing until the spring.
